Here is an example of a slat-equipped aircraft taking off at Coonagh. As the aircraft crossed the far end of the runway, I took this picture. You can see that it is only 40 feet above the end of the runway, and as I have been taught about jet aircraft, if you have an engine failure on a jet, you should be able to be 35 feet above the end of the runway. I never thought that I would see a single engine prop-driven aircraft this low on a takeoff.
